Dear Friends of Saint Alphonsus,

I greet you with blessings and with love of the Lord.  May God bless and protect each of you and your family for your love of Saint Alphonsus Church.

Soon we will be entering the Season of Lent.  Ash Wednesday is on February 17th this year.  During this special time we are asked to come closer to Christ, to understand what love He had and has for us, to follow His Way even to the Cross.  We can accept daily crosses as Jesus accepted His Cross for the love of us.

As you are aware we have been in the process of restoring the windows in the church.  We have come a long way. We have completed 3 phases consisting of 14 windows.  Unfortunately, there are still 18 windows which must be restored.  These will be worked on in 4 phases and because of the location of these windows and the difficulty in accessing them from the courtyard side, the cost is somewhat higher.

Phase 4 – 5 large windows on the courtyard side                                                          $225,000

Phase 5 – 3 rose windows, 2 St. Alphonsus windows above the altar &

the window separating the church & chapel (6 windows)                               $160,000

Phase 6 – 2 angel windows in the chapel, 1 window in each of the rooms

to the right and left of the main altar (4 windows)                                           $  20,000

Phase 7 – 3 large windows on the front of the church on Saratoga St.                            $125,000

As you can see the cost totals $530,000 !!

We need to ask you to be supportive and very generous toward St. Alphonsus.   I know we are asking for sizeable contributions as it reflects your generosity and gratitude to God.  Please help us to remain vibrant at St. Alphonsus.

May we worship together, pray together, love God together so that Lent may be a holy and personal experience of Jesus in our lives and may God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit shower you with many blessings.

Wishing many blessings upon you and yours,

                                                                                     Monsignor Arthur Bastress, Pastor
